Querino (Augie) and Ida Jane Alteri
started the bakery in 1971.
For over 30 years the bakery was run by
Augie, Ida and their sons. The bakery
moved to the present location in 2000 where
they are active members of the North Country
community. The bakery was sold to new
management in 2007 but Mark and Ida are
still affiliated with the business, bring
four generations of baking experience and
over 80 years of serving the north country
with the finest true Italian breads.
Alteri's is one of the last traditional
Italian bakeries.
